So I’m going to ask you to come with me to a scary place. It’s a scary story and, although the verdict is still out, we are hoping for a happy ending.
Step into my garage, will you? ::insert climactic, dramatic music here:: (picture “Psycho”).
Yes, I feel shame. I feel like we JUST cleaned the garage last year and things just get piled in there. Things I didn’t even know we had. Things I forgot we had. If an axe murderer or zombie is looking for a place to hide, this is a prime spot.
If you see my face on a milk carton, you should really check the garage first.
The real problem here is while we have gotten rid of some things, there has never been a real “system”, aside from some holiday themed tubs. So many loose odds and ends.
We knew we needed some more vertical storage but I also wanted an enclosed option since I have so much bakeware and small appliances I don’t want to get dusty. You know, the kind of things you may only use every so often but you want to be able to find them when you need them without killing yourself?
We were recently introduced to Sauder.com and were pretty impressed at all of the amazing and affordable furniture options.
In their Utility & Garage Furniture section we found these Storage Cabinets and I knew right away that this was the type of enclosed storage I needed to start getting a handle on our garage dilemma.
The online ordering process was super easy – no issues, and delivery was fast. Assembly was also very easy, thankfully. The instructions were clear and there was no drama (including yelling, cursing or “near divorce” type scenarios) but it’s nice to know that Sauder offers Customer Service via Live Chat online, via email and also via phone support if we need it.
Seriously – easier to assemble than some Lego kits we’ve worked on with our kids.
Pretty excited that now a lot of my small appliances, bakeware and other items I don’t use every day have a handy little home and are all in one spot.
In the next installment, we’ll show you the overall garage makeover. So glad this finally seems manageable. I’m on a mission!
