As the saying goes sometimes “the best things in life are free”. And as we plan to gather with our families over the holidays, it’s hard to not get wrapped up in the chaos of it all. Thanksgiving dinner is hands down my favorite meal of the year and you can bet I have zero tolerance for stress.
Are you hosting family in your home for the holidays this year? Are there any little touches you can add to make it extra special without adding more stress into your life?
I am all about keeping it simple and these DIY Thanksgiving Acorn Napkin Rings can add a little homemade touch to your Thanksgiving table without breaking the bank. Gotta save up for that Turkey, no?
Simple supplies you might already have on hand can make for the best decorations. Here is how to make these little cuties!Supplies:
Paper Towel Holders Jute Twine (or any sturdy yarn you might have on hand) Hot Glue Fall Leaves Acorns
Paper towel rolls are a little less than 11″ so I measured and cut mine into 4 even pieces being just under 2.75″ each.
I wrapped the Jute twine vertically to make it easier.
Just secure the end of your twine inside the paper towel roll with a little hot glue and then wrap vertically, pressing the twine into straight lines and securing with a little hot glue in between every 2-3 wraps.
Once fully wrapped, simply hot glue a fall leaf and acorn on and you have a beautiful fall napkin ring! See how easy these are? Wrapping the jute twine takes a few minutes per roll so you can just watch your favorite show while you craft.
You could also tuck these free Printable Thanksgiving Place Cards between the acorn and leaf for added personalization.
You can look around your home or outside in nature to find all sorts of inexpensive ways to add beauty or whimsy to your Thanksgiving table.
While the focus will be on family and feast, it’s certainly nice to add those extra touches without spending a lot of money.
