Two years ago our oldest son graduated from high school and I remember thinking “How is that possible already??”
Now here I am wondering how he’s almost finished with his sophomore year at college and also “Middlest” is going to start middle school in August. Time just flies by so quickly.
No matter what age we are, it seems like someone we know, family or not, is always moving on to a new stage in life. From elementary to middle school, from high school to college, from college into the work place or even just a new promotion or a life changing opportunity – good things await!
There is always something to celebrate so these Oh The Places You’ll Go Graduation Printable Treat Bag Toppers can be used for a lot of other occasions than just graduation, believe me.
Whether you are hosting a celebratory bash or a going away party, these are truly a “sweet” touch and so easy to make.
Supplies you’ll need (affil. links included for your convenience):
- Clear Treat Bags (mine are 4″ x 6″)
- Globe Foiled Chocolate Earth Balls (or treats of choice)
- FREE “Oh The Places You’ll Go Graduation Printable Treat Bag Toppers” (download below)
- Optional idea – The “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” hardcover book makes a great gift you can have everyone sign inside the cover for an added gift for the guest(s) of honor.
Simply download the free printable below – there are 4 per page so you can decide exactly how many you need.
You should print on white card stock for best results. I personally just email my file over to Staples and pick them up from their copy center in about an hour. So easy.
Cut out each topper and fold in half. The borders I provided give an easy guideline – you can also use a ruler to help crease the toppers in half if you’d like. I’m not that patient so I just wing it. 😉
The globe chocolates I used are a 1 lb. bag. They say “approximately 72 pieces” but I was able to make 10 treat bags with 8 globe chocolates in each one (and I had one left over – I won’t tell if you won’t).
They do offer a 5 lb. bag option too if you’re having a bigger shin-dig. You could also use other colorful candy but I liked the tie in to the “places you’ll go” theme with the globes.
To assemble: Fill each treat bag evenly with desired candy. Working one at a time, fold over the top of each bag a couple of times then place the printed bag topper over the top and add a quick staple to each side making sure to capture the folded bag with the staple on each side.
That’s it – I told you these were easy! You’ll see I left some blank space on the back so you can add a name or a special note if you would like to. Here’s the download:
If you would like to download a Seuss style font I recommend “Doctor Soos” by Dafont:
They always have great free fonts and you can download this one HERE.
So there you have it. Time to plan a fun party to celebrate a milestone for someone you love.
I hope you all have a wonderful week, my friends!
