I’ve been wanting to share this fun little project for a while and this past weekend I finally got around to putting them together.
These little DIY Sea Urchin Succulent Planters are so easy to assemble and they add such a sweet touch to a beach themed tablescape.
Living here in Florida you’d maybe think we were just at the beach all the time but that’s just not the reality. It’s fun to have a few beachy touches throughout the house, especially on our back patio, to bring back our fun memories of our time at the beach.
I’ve included affiliate links so you can easily find the supplies. I started with some beautiful little Pink Sea Urchin Shells that I found on Amazon. Aren’t they pretty?
Then we found some beautiful little succulents – I love all the varieties. If any plants can be described as “adorable”, these are the ones. You can find a Mixed Succulent Spring Collection on Amazon as well or at your home & garden store.
I removed the succulents I wanted to use in the sea urchins from the planters and carefully separated off just one shoot, setting aside the others for now.
I gently placed one succulent into each of the larger sea urchins and packed in a little potting soil to fill the gaps.
As I added a little water I rinsed of the excess soil from the shell and that’s it! They are just so sweet – I kind of want them all over the place right now.
So what do you think? I’d love to hear about any fun ways you have used succulents at home as well so tell me all about it.
