Hi everyone! I’ve missed you all a whole bunch over the last two weeks and we have just had the most incredible time away on vacation in Northern Europe to celebrate my Mom’s upcoming 70th birthday. I can’t wait to share more about our adventure but first I wanted to share a fun project I worked on before we left!
When Kirkland’s reached out to partner with me and three other awesome bloggers on a small space makeover I immediately knew THIS was the space I had to tackle. It was time. #smallspacedesign
While I am sure our boy’s bathroom is not the smallest bathroom in the world by a long shot, it is definitely a small space and if you add a few boys into the mix… hello.
While the “boy bathroom” part may make it a little tricky to keep styled, the fact that it is a very small area with hardly any natural light means it’s also not the easiest of spaces to photograph.
Not to mention it was a
big small, hot mess and had been pretty much neglected for far too long anyway. My bad – it gets a little busy up in here.
This bathroom is also right off of our pool with a second door that leads out to the back patio. If you recall my patio makeover you know why my beach theme for this bathroom is such a perfect fit.
The “before” situation was a little glum, however. Yes, that is a Christmas patterned box of tissues and no, I did not move anything on the sink for this picture so I have no idea why a random penny is sitting there. My tip, perhaps.I have to be honest that, since our vacation was coming up, I didn’t want to dump a lot of money into this space. I am THRILLED to say that I didn’t have to and I am so happy with how it turned out.
Now the guilt over not doing it sooner has set in – it was so easy to spruce up this space on a budget!
First, I popped into Kirkland’s to check out what they had in the way of beach themed decor – I could have easily shopped their website too, but we have a location close by.
I will tell you it’s realllly hard not to get distracted in there because they have so much fun stuff for every area of the home but I was very good and I kept my focus on the bathroom makeover. There were so many great things to mix and match that fit my beach theme.
Kirkland’s even had some awesome fluffy bath rugs! And I may or may not have gotten a couple of these for our Master bath.
Needless to say we are loving the new space and even the boys were like “Whoa… this is cool!”.
Sometimes, as a Mom, you’re just thankful they noticed that anything changed. If you need a quick makeover on a small space, or any space in your home, just remember you can stick to a budget and add in a few key pieces or pops of color to completely change things up.
And now for the good part! Are YOU in need of a small space makeover? Here’s your chance to win a $200 Kirkland’s Gift Card!
Thank you to Kirkland’s for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
