I have such a delicious treat to share with you today – this easy Pumpkin Spice Smoothie is now officially a breakfast and holiday staple for our family.
The kids had fun at Halloween and now is when we REALLY start to get in the holiday spirit around here. In fact, Mr. Claire is already excited to put up the holiday decorations (I am trying to hold him back until after Thanksgiving) and the kids are asking if we can possibly see snow this year.
Not in Florida, boys, but we’ll see what we can arrange.
In the meanwhile, PUMPKIN!! You might recall my easy Mini Pumpkin Spice Tarts from a couple of weeks ago. They are sublime and this smoothie is now hands down one of my most favorite pumpkin recipes ever.
You guys – I love that there are only six ingredients and one of those is just a little milk. During the taste test both of my boys asked if I would “pleeease make them more” and that was without the whipped topping, by the way.
Middlest even declared it should be served as our “Official Thanksgiving Holiday Drink Recipe” as well. And so it shall be.
That was a little EPIC since he annually wins the “Least Likely To Try New Things” award. Mom for the win!!
The first “secret” ingredient is a banana which doesn’t change the flavor at all yet adds fiber. Of course the pumpkin is packed with more great nutrients as well. The second “secret” ingredient is my favorite Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer from International Delight.
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer
- ½ cup canned 100% pumpkin
- 1 banana
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice blend (pre-bought or ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg & clove)
- whipped topping for garnish (optional)
- cinnamon for sprinkling or a cinnamon stick (optional)
- Place all ingredients (except the optional ones) in a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve with a dollop of whipped topping (if desired).
- For added presentation, garnish with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkling of cinnamon.
The hint of pure maple syrup was all the sweetener that was needed. Just delicious and so very “pumpkiny”. Like I said – it’s my personal new morning smoothie for the time being.
I hope you will try it out and also be sure to visit InternationalDelight.com to share how ID helps YOUR family capture the spirit of the season for a chance to win a holiday brunch valued at $5,000 (what?? Invite me over!) for your friends and family hosted by International Delight!
