Hi all, Amy here, from Ms. Toody Goo Shoes, and I’ve got one really important question to ask you…
Are you ready to give winter the “boot?”
Yet…I had to do something to perk up my front porch. It’s been barren and lifeless for months now, and crying out for some color.
I looked through my “stash” in the basement, and pulled out some faux forsythia and pussy willows. I wasn’t sure exactly how I‘d use them, until I practically tripped over my rain boots (affil. link).
Sometimes, it’s good to be clumsy.
Aha! Boot vases! I’d seen variations of this on Pinterest, and it appealed to me not only because it’s pretty, but it’s super-easy, too!
I’m guessing that you don’t need a tutorial to figure this one out.
Basically, I stuck the branches into the boots, admired my work, and went to get my nails done. But I do have a helpful hint, or two.
4-6 branches of pussy willows
4-6 branches of forsythia
2-4 good-sized rocks (or lots of small rocks)
Place rocks into each boot to weigh them down.
Bend the stems to adjust height of the flowers.
Place branches into the boots.
You figured that last part out on your own, didn’t you?
My rain boot vase made the front porch spring to life, don’t you think? I guess you could call it a spring “faux-cal” point.
My porch is dressed for spring, but come time for April showers, I might be needing to wear those boots.
See you next month!
