Best Of The Weekend

Another week has gone by so fast.  First, to all of you Moms out there HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!  I hope you get pampered and loved on just like you deserve to be because you are AWESOME and loved!

It was another great party and once again you all brought so many great posts and ideas!  Thank you to all who came by and linked up and don’t forget to stop by this Saturday and bring your best posts to the party!  Here were some of my favorites this past week.

First up my fave DIY & Craft Projects:

1} I am blown away by this gorgeous Master Bathroom Makeover by Courtney at “Golden Boys & Me” and now that I have featured her maybe she will adopt me and let me live in that bathroom {oh wait, she has three boys like me… may have to hang a sign on the door!}

2) I love so many things about this “Front Porch Refresh” by Christine at Little Brags and there is definitely a lot to “brag” about over there.  Bring on Summer!

3) Love, love this DIY Etched Glass Pie Plate by the amazing Jenn over at Rook No. 17.    Jenn always has great ideas and this one is an easy Mother’s Day gift too!

4) Another amazing bathroom renovation by Sharon at “Life After Empty Nest” and, having renovated a few houses, this one makes me want to jump up and down.  Amazing and I love that the post is called “Kicking the 80′s Out of The Guest Bathroom.”  Love.

Next, my savory “foodie” picks:

1) Asparagus is one of my favorites and this Creamy Asparagus Soup by Cynthia at “Feeding Big” looks so delicious.  I want some now!!

2) I love fast and easy recipes and Nicole at “Southern Charm” shared her “Microwave Potato Salad” – and boy is it ever easy! My Dad would love this.

3) Spinach Tortellini With Alfredo Sauce by “Kreative Creationz”… now, you know I love cheese.  Kendra lived in Italy for three years and the spinach is mixed into the dough and then there’s the alfredo.  I need this in my life right now.

4) Julie at “This Gal Cooks” brought a delicious “Greek Style Pasta Salad” to the party.  It has Feta cheese so I know she loves me.

5) Not only do I love chicken salad, but I love curry!  Sweet Kele at “Instant Mommie” shared this Chicken Curry Salad that is on my list to make ASAP!!

Some “Dessert-y Goodness…

1) I love the story behind this Limoncello Cocktail Cake from Lisa at “Cooking With Curls”.  It not only sounds divine, it looks gorgeous too!

2) If you have never tried this, now is a fantastic time to try Monkey Bread!  Karen at “Dogs Don’t Eat Pizza” reminds us just how easy it is to make {Karen, if I show up on your doorstep, you’ll know why.  I’ll bring the coffee}.

3) More lemony goodness right here.  Jamie from “Love Bakes Good Cakes” brought this amazing Blackberry Lemon Coffee Cake.  She either heard I love lemon or she’s just trying to make me fat!  Love Jamie’s recipes!!

4) And… you guys were apparently rocking the lemon vibe this week,  I want these Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes by Deb at “Cooking On The Front Burner” for breakfast on Mother’s Day!!

And lastly some great Frugal Household Tips:

1)  Love this Homemade Dishwasher Detergent by Leslie at “The Seasoned Homemaker”.  Talk about a great money saving tip!

2) While the hubs and I save about $350 or so a month using coupons, here is a great article on “Saving Money Without Coupons” by Jazmin over at Frugalty Gal.

3) And last but not least… another Claire!  I actually had the great pleasure of meeting Claire in person at Blissdom in Dallas and she has some great tips on how to Spring Clean Your Master Bedroom over at “Claire’s Healthy Home”.

I was so excited to launch our “Best Of The Weekend” party this past Saturday and I am loving all of the fabulous projects and recipes that you all brought to the party!!  SO much, in fact, that I had a really hard time choosing what to feature and will try to get this post out early on Thursdays moving forward!

I ended up picking more features than I normally might in weeks to come but, after all, it WAS a premiere party and I am just so happy you all showed up to kick it off with me!

First up, my DIY Home Decor favorites:

1. This adorable Yard Sale Coffee Bar by The Long Awaited Home was the MOST CLICKED ON LINK, congrats!
2. Julie’s Illuminated Photo Door over at Redhead Can Decorate is beautiful!!
3. I have not used chalk paint yet but this Chalk Paint Makeover by Hickory Trail is awesome!  Love the before & after pics!

My DIY Craft favorites:

4.  These Vintage Inspired Painted Mason Jars by Live, Laugh, Rowe are gorgeous. I want one in every color.  Maybe two.

5. I love the story behind this Clothesline Trivet from Little Miss Celebration .

6. This DIY Beach Souvenir by Diana Rambles has me excited for Summer!

7. I love how this Pussy Willow Starburst by Cynthia Weber just brings Spring right indoors!

My “What’s For Dinner” favorites:

You guys did not make this part easy at ALL!  So many yummy ideas.  Seriously, I really wanted to include all of them.  I just had to narrow it down and it was so hard – it {clearly} took me all day!

8) I wanted to lick the screen when I saw this Parmesan Pesto Grilled Tomato, Ham & Cheese sandwich by Lemony Thyme. Holy. Yum.

9) Creamy BBQ Shrimp by CallMePMC.  Yes, please and thank you.

10) I love chicken parm and Krysta had me at “avocado” with her Avocado Chicken Parmesan!

11) I must try this Garlicky Thai Chicken Pizza by Sherry K, Jazzy Gourmet ASAP.  Looks wonderful!!

My Dessert favorites:

12) Chef Chris has me in stitches every day.  This French Silk Pie, however is serious business. Filed under “YUM!”

13) And while we’re talking about “Serious Chocolate”… I am drooling over this Dark Chocolate Hot Fudge Cake by Simply Gloria

14) Love this inspirational post and easy Peanut Butter Cake recipe by Tumbleweed Contessa.

15) Hello, caramel-y goodness.  I may need to change out my morning coffee addiction to include this Caramel Apple Cider from Busy Mom’s Helper. Love caramel!
